“When we first stepped into a riding centre, it was because we loved horses: competitions and achievements came after and should always come after our love for horses. Our heart should keep on beating exactly as it did the first time we rode a horse.“
One day, in 1999, he was reading an article on a horse magazine when he saw a picture of an English rider who was jumping a tank on a bridleless and halterless horse: Luca was amazed. He felt completely bewitched by it and started to look for more details, until he discovered the Parelli method. Then, he started studying ethology and decided to question his knowledge about horses. He, then, came to realise that that there’s so much more satisfaction in winning a competition if his horses are on his side and, from that day on, he worked to build a better relationship with them. He went to the States to meet Pat and Linda Parelli and became friend with Michel Robert, George Morris and many other well-known horse lovers from whom he learnt what he needed to decide which kind of rider he was going to be. Luca’s first time as a member of the national team was in 2009 at the Linz Nations Cup. From that day on he dreams for a new goal to reach every day.

Luca & Unika
We chose Luca as a member of our team because respect for horses lies at the heart of his ethological method, thus reminding us all that sport should never go against horses’ nature and that ensuring their horses’ well-being should be a priority for all riders.
